Creating the space where all people are seen, heard, respected, and included is something that every community, workplace and society should have at its core.  Valuing real diversity and safe spaces require so much more than a policy and strategy, it requires everyone working together to build Everyday Changemakers who are committed to leading, influencing and becoming the change needed for impactful and sustainable inclusivity.

 

Within Change The Balance we feel strongly that resilience and true equity is not achievable without creating a Collective Force of everyday people who have the capacity and opportunities to contribute and to create positive change. 

We believe that everyone has a story that needs to be shared, stories that call out the systemic discrimination.

We believe that everyone has a voice that needs to be heard, words that challenge the inequality experienced. 

We believe that there are people who are ready to dismantle the oppression with their actions.

We believe that there are Everyday Changemakers who are ready to rebuild a society, a workplace, a community that offers equal access to opportunities by embracing all human lived experiences.

Change The Balance is here to push the boundaries.  To create, sculpt and rewrite a future that has a space for everyone.  We are here to help leaders weave together the threads of their experience, to build sustainable equity and genuine inclusivity by uniting a community of people who all share the purpose of becoming professional change makers and allies.
 

When it comes to EDI (Equity, Diversity and Inclusion) in the workplace, most leaders can already see how it can benefit their organisation. But we believe that there is a crucial gap between what company's think that they are doing and the specific actions that are taken to create genuinely inclusive cultures.

Our community of leaders know that meaningful change cannot be created without the 'collective force of the individual' so together we can design innovative partnerships that accelerate inclusivity, both within and outside of our organisations.

 

Founders Sabrina Shadie and Charlotte Hopkins have a big vision, so together they have collaborated to combine over 50 years of experience working with hundreds of communities and thousands of people to create meaningful, sustainable and cultural change.

Our passion to create safe spaces that help all people thrive means we are ready to help leaders - just like you - to become real allies who ready to lead, influence and become the change needed to bring true inclusivity and equity to all.

To really Change The Balance in our workplace we need so much more than policies and processes. We require people who are prepared to:

Take action to challenge the status quo...

identifying changes needed despite the time, effort and emotional costs that have already been made.

Be bold, brave and willing to make mistakes...

to address areas of bias, stereotyping and prejudice amongst individuals, collective teams and organisational structures.

 Get comfortable being uncomfortable...

with a willingness to 'unlearn' and become more self-aware; acknowledging privilege and that we can do better!

Lead & influence become the change needed...

to make a difference regardless of size with emotional and solution focused activism across culture and organisational design.
